I was parked on the main street in Old Salem, North Carolina and as I was opening the door to get into my Toyota I noticed this image. What caught my eye was the tree shadow on the white wall, with contrasting brick above and below. It’s taken me many years to develop what I’ll call a “camera eye” and I’m seeing some progress in that regard. What that means is that I tend to look all around me as I go about my day, judging what might look good if it were to be made into a digital photo. Given that I usually have a camera with me, that’s an easy task. Sometimes I get lucky, most times not.
