Years ago, I used to work daily with photographer Mike Curtis…me in uniform in the Army and him working as a lead photographer for the Army installation to which we were both assigned. After I retired from the Army we kept in touch through his profession and my hobby…photography. His guidance and mentoring to me over the years as I developed my skills with a camera were invaluable to me…as is his friendship today. Recently, he took me to one of his favorite “photo places” while I was on assignment developing a magazine story at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. You have been seeing some of the photos I made there. It’s great having friends like Mike…especially when they carry a Nikon camera.
