When you drive through the Piedmont Region of North Carolina, along the border with Virginia, you will see literally hundreds of these old farm structures. They are tobacco drying buildings which were used to hang and then dry freshly picked tobacco. Most are no longer used, such as this one. Still, they make for a nice photo. The remnants of Tropical Storm Lee, coming from the south had passed through here the day prior, but the storm clouds had yet to clear. That made for a much more dramatic image, and was one reason why I was out and about with my camera.
