Roof Angles

These colorful roofs on small houses in Rocky Mount, Virginia made for an interesting composition, especially with the red brick chimney in the center. I like metal roofs because they can be painted…but probably would not want one on a house of my own. Might be a bit noisy in a hail storm.

  1. Elegant composition, it gives the sense of a greater architectural village hovering just outside the frame.

    I grew up with a steel roof and have always loved the sound of driving rain, or even hail, hammering the roof. The aural connection with the weather makes the warmth and dryness inside even more enjoyable.
