We have a very handy neighbor who not only built this backyard utility “cabin”, but next to it he designed a colored glass “bottle tree” … a local tradition. Click the image for more details.
SuperMike:
“Bottle trees” are also bound in a funeralizing tradition with Southern Blacks to keep the “bad spirits” bottled up. After a designated period of time, the bottles are shattered–doing away with the “spirits” but leaving the broken glass beneath the new bottles–notice which way the openenings are–pointed down to catch the “rising spirits” and hold them. Fantastic work, as usual.
