This brick clock tower in Madison NC is a bit in need of repair in spots (like the flag and pole, and a broken piece of the left-side glass facing of the dial), but it still makes for a nice photo. I have made photos here before and the last time I did the glass face had not been broken, so I assume some unfortunate vandal paid the building a visit. The tower was dedicated to those who lost their lives during the First World War. I made a telephoto close-up of the clock face so you can read the inscription. As I have mentioned before in this blog, it’s best to have more than one photo when a close up is involved, so that the viewer can get a full understanding of your subject. Of course there are exceptions, such as flowers and texture compositions.
good shot mike. interesting when you see what some communities did to commemorate the sacrifices of those who served…
Great image, I suppose it still works.Does this clock light up at night/ IF it did would look neat to do a long exposure to get the movement of the arms.
