My Favorite Flower … as a kid

When I was a young boy my favorite flowers were dandelions. During spring and early summer they grew all over our yard, and those of our neighbors. We picked their yellow blooms with sticky stems underneath to made a bouquet for our mothers. When the flower transformed into fluffy seeds we blew them off, or tossed the entire pod into the wind to let nature take its course. It was a sign of freedom to us, and to hot summer days ahead, full of the joy only a kid can appreciate.

  1. As I get older I realize how I took my childhood For granted. My wife and I are on a long trip to glacier national Park Montana and we stopped at my cousins place in Kansas. We talked a lot about our childhood the things we did.
