A Historic Home …now vacant

This beautiful Victorian-style house is located in the small town of Reidsville, NC a short drive from my home. Its historic nature is that it was the home of prior North Carolina Governor David Settle Reid after he retired from public service. He lived there from 1881 until his death ten years later. Reidsville was named for his father. As in many small American towns today, community leaders struggle to find the funds needed for preservation.
